A criminal defendant resolved three cases involving six felony charges by a plea agreement that cut his possible prison time in half, with a guaranteed maximum and minimum of 12 years. Before entering his no contest pleas, the defendant acknowledged that the court "must impose a restitution fine of between $200 and $10,000." At sentencing, without objection by the defendant, the court imposed restitution fines totaling $6,800 as calculated in the probation report pursuant to a formula recommended by the Legislature in Penal Code section 1202.4, subdivision (b)(2). *fn1 The court imposed a suspended fine in the same amount under section 1202.45. We will conclude, among other things, that the defendant has not demonstrated that imposition of these fines violated the terms of his plea agreement.
